Ceiling Water Damage in Atlanta
The water heater was installed in the attic crawl of this home in Atlanta. The supply line gave way at the rusted coupling and quickly overran the small catch pan under the heater. The water weighed upon the insulation and drywall ceiling panels. We arrived after the dinner hour because We're Faster To Any Size Disaster. We left the installation of the new water heater to the plumber, but we discarded the soaked water damaged materials. We set up air movers and a dehumidifier in the attic space to increase the evaporation rate of the area. By sealing off the affected area, we kept the living quarters in a cleaner and more sanitary condition while expediting the drying process above. We returned the following day to verify the return to normal RH conditions and lightly fogged the attic area with an antimicrobial product.
